What We Believe

This is our Statement of Faith.

What we believe about God:
  • We believe in the one, eternal God who lives in 3 persons – the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe in the love, unearned forgiveness, and sovereignty of the one, true God.
  • We believe in Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who is both fully God and fully human. We believe in the sacrifice of Jesus for our sins by his death on the cross in our place.
  • We believe that Jesus died, was buried, and three days later came back to life. We believe in His bodily resurrection, His ascension into heaven and in his future coming again.
  • We believe in the Holy Spirit who lives in every Christian and is the source of our relationship to God and Christlike behaviour.
What we believe about sin:
  • We believe that our relationship with God, with each other and with creation has been broken by sin.
  • We believe that sin separates us from God. We have all sinned and are unable to rescue ourselves.
  • We believe that a right relationship with God can only be found through faith in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
  • We believe that we receive forgiveness from Jesus when we confess our sins and turn away from our sins.
What we believe about Church:
  • We believe that Christ is the Head of His body, the Church.
  • We believe every Christian has a role in the Church and has been given spiritual gifts by God.
  • We believe that the Church is called to glorify God in worship, to share the gospel throughout the world and to build itself up in love.
What we believe about the Bible:
  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and that it is our supreme authority in all matters of faith and Christian living.
  • We believe that every part of Scripture is God-breathed – showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, and training us to live God’s way.
